eRGONOMICS AND SCIENCE
CogitoBio is a consulting company that bring together a team of ergonomics and bio-mechanical specialists. We mainly analyse interfaces between human and machine and between human and objects. Cogitobio offers a transversal method integrating biomechanical engineering, ergonomics, and clinical practice. We have developed specific ergonomics measurement tools based on models that represents the functional behavior of human body. Our ergonomics scientific approach relies on research conducted in our laboratory.

SINCE 1996
OUR STORY
In 1996, we carried out, in collaboration with the SNCF (French rails), a study on the comfort of their train seats. The result of this research and collaboration was an ergonomics measurement tool set. We also determined a unique model which allows us the understanding of discomfort and beginning of musculoskeletal problems. This unique model is grounded on a very innovative vision and clarifies the determinations of the interactions between the biology, the mechanics of the body, and the neurology. This collaboration with SNCF led to the creation of our company Cogitobio in 2000.
Historically, Cogitobio specialises in the evaluation of the comfort of the seat, most particularly in rail and aeronautical transport. Since then, Cogitobio has developed in many other sectors, such as helping designers and product developers to improve their products with an ergonomics approach. We have also been working on workstations with various ergonomic approach: accessibility, people with reduced mobility, musculoskeletal disorders. We are developing Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) which is an assessment method aimed at quantifying the environmental impacts of a product or service.
